Too Long Weekends

Well its been too long weekends in a row for the Leander Wibles. It all started on Labor Day weekend when Marleene and I decided that we had had enough of our current flooring situation. Something that we had not been happy with since the day we bought the house. But obviously not too unhappy to not buy the house.... so it waited. Fast forward to Labor Day weekend and we were in Home Depot, now guys, if you dont want to "do things" to your house, dont take your wife to Home Depot, or Lowes or any other home improvement store for that matter. Wives can find all sorts of things in stores like that that they want to buy to improve the home. So beware. Anywho, we are in Home Depot and find a really good deal on some laminate wood flooring, something we had been keeping our eye on for a while, checking prices and so forth, so we decided to buy some for the living room/kitchen/laundry room/dining room.

Well then we decided that probably putting wood laminate in the kitchen/laundry room because water and wood dont play nicely together. So we decided to look at ceramic tile for the kitchen area. Which we also found at a great deal at Home Deopt so we decided to get the tile as well. But not so fast, we had to visit 3 different Home Depots to get the right ammount of tile and wood laminate, not to mention all of the other little things that go along with putting in new flooring. So one long day and numerous trips to Home Deopt later, we have a house full of new flooring and no idea of how to install it! Welcome in my dad, who seems to know how to do just about anything.

Mom and Dad come down for the weekend two weekends ago to help us install the tile in the kitchen, which took all, stinkin, weekend. But at last it was done, and boy oh boy does it look good. "Hey mom and dad, want to come back next weekend to help us install the wood laminate? Please, please, please......" YESSSSS back to back weekends of back breaking and mind boggling work! Wood laminate went in this past weekend and i'll be a monkeys uncle, but it looks pretty darn nice too. "Thanks mom and dad for coming back to help again, want to come back next weekend to put the tile in the bathrooms.....? Just kidding...... sort of......"

Now fast forward to today, Wednesday and I am looking at a weekend of labor free lounging and tv watching. Except of course for all of the clean up and follow up work that has to be done to actually finish off the wood floor situation..... "Oh boy, oh joy!" Anyways, I dont have any pics taken of our handy work just yet, but when I do I will post them here for all to see. So check back later this week for the pics.
