Some Random Thoughts & Other Good Stuff

Well its Friday and the work week has been long and slow so I thought I would take a minute to update the blog. So here goes with some random thoughts and stuff you might not know.

This picture becomes a bit more realistic today because Marleene is moving home!

This is good news for me because it has been a lonely existence without her around the house. So welcome home Marleene! Its good to have you back.

There will soon be an addition to the Matt & Dawn Wible family, yes Matt is pregnet. I mean Dawn is pregnet.

Say hello to my little friend!

Yes indeedy, the Doc will soon be an uncle to more than a couple of slobbery boxers. (Sorry Petie & Daisy) Thank you to Matt and Dawn for the great anniversary gift, remember its September 6. (Happy birthday to you your Mooseship - on the 6th of Sep.) What a glorious day it will be!

Ok so down to business. We have actually gotten new Lost episodes in consecutive weeks, and I could only be happier if it came on everynight with a new episode. Hey come on, the soaps do it, and Lost is like a soap opera at times. But anyways, the show is truckin right along with more twists and turns than a Six Flags rollercoaster. (Not that I would know from personal experience, other than the Mine Train, I dont ride those dangerous and vomit inducing heaps of metal and or wood) But ok, who didnt see that the guy in the hatch wasnt an "Other?" It was obvoius, he was one shifty fellow. And just look at this picture that a fellow Lost fan sent me.

This guy is certainly an "Other!" Just look at that crazy look in his eye! Stay back mister. Thanks to D. for the great pic!

So here is to more new Lost episodes, and more twists and turns and keeping us guessing.

Well, in the time since I started this blog I have managed to actually do a little work and list an item on eBay and those have caused me to lose my train of thought, so I dont know where I was going with all of this and should probably call it quits for the day. Have a good weekend everybody and look for a new blog on Monday.

Over the weekend we added a new member to our family. Maggie has enjoyed her new back yard and the freedom it gives her to roam on her own free will, no more chains for this girl. But having grown up around other dogs, her cousins Red/Spot, Toby, Hannah, Petie & Daisy and friends Dakota and Chester/Little Man/Pee Wee/Coco, she was a bit lonely in her yard. Plus she was used to seeing some form of human life more than just in the early morning and evening. So this move from the dog happy world of China Spring to the lonely back yard of Leander was a little depressing for the poor pup. Add to this that Maggie is not used to being able to hear dogs bark but not see them, or be able to greet them. She has been introduced to a life in a fenced yard where neighbors have dogs, that like to bark at her. This was all too much for the previously abandoned pouch.

So Marleene and I thought, maybe we should get her a friend to play with.

But what kind of dog do we get? Can we afford another dog? Do we really want two dogs? Well the answer to the last two questions were easy, yes and yes! The first became easier after time. Now there were outside influences trying to persuade us to a certain type of dog. But some dogs are just too big and slobbery, sorry Petie & Daisy no offense. And in the end our search ended with a co-worker of Marleene's bringing her pups to work. Well, who can say no to a cute little ball of black fur? And it doesnt hurt when the pup comes home free! So home came our new addition - Zoe!

This is Zoe Bear!

She is a black lab/chow mix. She is short and fat and looks like a little baby black bear when she walks. It has been a smooth transition with her and Maggie. Maggie was a little unsure of Zoe at first, but when she realized that she was not being replaced, but rather given a friend to play with, she took Zoe under her paw, literally.

Maggie doesnt waste any time showing Zoe who is boss of the back yard.

But they are friends for life, sisters and companions. And Maggie is glad to have her around, the back yard is not so lonely any more.

Here they are in their tent.

So things at the Leander Wible household got a little cozier, and a lot more exciting. Having a puppy again, a young puppy, is always fun and a bit crazy. We are trying to teach Zoe to go "potty" outside. She does a good job of sleeping through the night, but does have trouble holding her bladder once we let her out of the kennel in the morning. There has been more than one time the she has left a trail of puddles while heading for the back yard in the morning. But we are working on it, and she is getting better.

I will keep you posted on her progress and her growth! I think she is going to be a fairly big girl.

In other news, Marleene moves home for good this weekend! No more weekend marriage for us. The bachelor life of frozen dinners, pizza & hamburgers is coming to an end, at last.

On a more serious note....

Just so everyone knows that this blog is not all funny stuff and goofy pictures. The following is a serious blog, so if you only want the funny and goofy then stop reading now. (This means you Andrew)

Marleene and I moved to our new home on March 11th, well I moved and Marleene has been living with my parents. She will be joining me here in the new house next weekend, she will be ending her employment with Baylor University at the end of the month. This has been my first look into the "bachelor" life, as I lived at home until Marleene and I got married. And I really must say that it is not all its cracked up to be. I dont mind being alone or having time to myself for a little while, but this days at a time stuff just is no fun. Maybe if my wife were not so cool and awesome this time might not be so bad, but Marleene is just totally rad that it makes being away from her hard.

But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! And plus, she does come down on the weekends, which is nice.

The move went well, we were able to get everything loaded in a 16' Penskie truck and unloaded into the house. I think we have about 95% of the boxes unpacked, but there is still organizing to do. One thing about moving is that you really get to see how much stuff can accumulate over time. Man we have a lot of stuff.

Here Matt and I are using our Forearm Forklifts to move the boxsprings. We had to get a picture of Matt actually helping because the, he and Dawn, always seem to find a wedding they have to be at when Marleene and I move.

Well I guess some of you might be wondering what have I been eating, since I dont know how to cook and no one is cooking for me!? Well I have been living on Red Barron pizza and hamburgers. Pizza on Monday, hamburgers on Tuesday, pizza on Wednesday, hamburger on Thursday, Marleene is here on Friday so we will see what diner holds for Friday. Last week it was Outback (we had a gift card!). No gift cards this week, so we will see what we do because I dont have any other food in the house. Well unless you count cereal and sandwhich fixins.

It is interesting having moved away from Waco, since that is where basically all of my family is, Waco/China Spring. We are now even farther from Marleenes family, they are in Arlington, sorry Mark & Eleene. So since we are out of the loop, so to say, I will need you all to keep us informed as to what is happening around Waco and with our families. So send us lots of emails and call us from time to time. We dont have a home phone yet, but you can reach us on the cells.

So keep in touch, all of you or I will put you in the pit!

This is Marleene

Well I must admit that as funny as that picture of Marleene is, it doesnt do her immense beauty justice. So I really have to give you a better picture of my wonderful bride.

Those of you who know Marleene know that she is just as nice of a person as you could want to meet. I really am lucky to have her as my wife and am gratefull that she was willing to give this boy from Wakko a chance.

But then again, truth be told, she was the one who called me in the first place...... But thats a story for another day.

Random thoughts for the day:

American Idol was pretty good last night. As always there were those who just stood above the rest: Mandisa, Paris, Chris, Taylor. And there were those who just really dont belong: Bucky, Kevin, Ace. Wow the guys this year are either really good or just not good at all. Good night to Bucky tonight.

Amazing Race was good as well last night. I do hate to see the two perv frat boys in the lead but at least the hippies are close behind. Sorry to see the mom & daughter duo go, but they really werent that good so it wasnt a surprise. Next week the Dani girls go bye-bye!

And here is to a new episode of Lost tonight! FINALLY. Come on ABC, lets string a few new episodes together here. Other shows do it, you can to.

Look for more random thoughts in the future, maybe even a Random Thoughts column. (do you call it a column? Who knows)

Some pics you might not want to miss

Ok, so I guess this will be my first real try at a good blog. I am going to post some pictures from my life, recent life that is.

This first one here is of Marleene while we were living in the Nell Pape house, this is right after she could swear she saw a ghost.

Now what you have to know about Marleene is that she used to watch a lot of Lifetime Television for Women. And her current favorite shows are Law & Order and CSI. So she has a bit of a wild imagination. There wasnt any ghost, just her mind playing tricks on her.

Some of you may know that we just moved out of the Wible town of Waco, Texas into a little known town outside of Austin called Leander. Its a town of only 7000 people.

This is our house before we bought it. The grass is now a little greener, the trees are blooming, its a much prettier picture of the house now. But I dont have a picture of its current state.

And lastly I will leave you with a picture of our newest additions to the Wible family.

Here we go with Petie, Daisy and Maggie - AKA Maverick. Look for a new addition to the family coming real soon. And look for another addition coming a little bit later!

Tune in tomorrow as I give my opinion about tonights American Idol and Amazing Race!

This is Maggie "Maverick" Wible.  Posted by Picasa
