Latest and Greatest

Well once again its been a month or more since I last updated the ol blog, so I am like so sure you all are just dying to know what has been going on. Well the truth is there really hasnt been a lot happening. With both of us now working it seems the only time we really do anything is on the weekends. Weeknights are usually spent recovering from the day on the couch either watching tv or playing games. We have taken to playing Skip-Bo lately, and just this weekend got a new game called Kismet, which is very similar to Yatzee. Seems that we enjoy playing games together more than watching re-runs on the teli.

A couple of weekends ago we got outside early on Saturday and beautified the front yard. If you have been to our house you more than likely noticed the wonder green electric boxes that sit on our property line. Well we decided it was time to cover them things up with some plants. So being as I am a landscape designer it fell to me to come up with something. No problem. Well, no problem with coming up with something. The actual work on the other hand was back breaking! If you have never done any digging in the Austin area, dont start! After a wonderful 3 inches of top soil you will hit rock. They dont call limestone "Austin Rock" for nothing. But after about 6 hours of work, we finally got the bed done, and it looks really good. And the best part is this, it was basically free. The plants were all leftovers from work that were just sitting at our office awaiting a slow and droughtish death. The limestone around the edge was free, well we officially paid for it when we bought the house, but it came from the back yard. The only thing we had to buy was the mulch, and 3 bags at $2.50 a bag wasnt a bad investment. And in time hopefully you wont even notice those green boxes that sit so proudly in our front yard.

Well for those of you who want to know, yes Marleene is enjoying her new job. She has done a great job with getting up and going to work every day, and she has not come home yet wanting to quit or start looking for another job. She is getting the hang of her job pretty quickly and has been given the largest case load in the office! We are taking that as a compliment, as she is obviously the smartest and brightest case manager they have! Work for me is going well, things are busy, people are still moving to Sun City and needing their new homes landscaped, so there is still work to be done.

Thats all for now, I have no words of wisdom to leave you with, no funny jokes or silly dog stories. So........
