The "Tough Guy" Guy

What is it about some guys? You know the type, you see them in the store in naught but shorts and a t-shirt when its snowing outside. Or the guy who doesnt need an umbrella when its raining. How about the flip-flop's year round guy? What's wrong with these people? And why is it mostly men? You never see women walking around in the dead of winter in shorts and a tank top, and if you do you mistake them for men anyways.

I would like to think this only happens with young men, teenagers early 20's type who are still trying to impress "the ladies" with their manly physiques and their no need for clothing to keep them warm when its freezing outside. But no, you are just as likely to see Mr. Mid-life-Crisis sporting the beach wear on a frigid January morning.

Is it something mental, maybe a wire got crossed in the brain that causes a severe lack of common sense. Maybe those who start at the younger ages actually have their brain frozen from the lack of warmth thus creating a life-time of bad clothing decisions. Maybe its just immaturity that causes some men to think that dressing warmly on a cold day is not manly, and God forbid anyone out there think you weren't manly enough to "put up with a little cold" in the name of being manly.

"Hey, so-and-so, dont you have a coat? Its 2 degrees outside." You might ask.

"I'll put it on when it gets cold. THIS, isnt cold." The tough guy will respond.

Guys, let me give you some advice, no one thinks you are tough for not wearing a coat when its cold, we all just think you are stupid. Anyone else have any stories of the "tough guy"? Im sure we all have seen or know one.

This is a plague that infects Baylor as well (along with "popped" collars on pastel pink polo shirts). It's NOT GAY AT ALL. NOT GAY.

Right, I have witnessed the "popped" collars as well. I especially like it when they wear two polo's and "pop" both collars, thats really "cool"!

You have to cut these guys a little slack...they aren't from Texas... When they get around a Texan, they feel the need to be tough too... These guys who refuse coats in the cold are always from Colorado or California... They just need something to make them feel as tough and cool as Texans...
